Cody McCarthy, CSCS
Peak Fitness Emmett Manager & Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
My name is Cody McCarthy, and I am 31 years old. I am an Idaho native who is passionate about health and wellness. I have goals to help people achieve their own health and fitness goals. I am a former collegiate athlete. I played football at Eastern Washington University where I was blessed to have a successful career on and off the field. It was my time as an athlete where I really learned the importance of health and fitness. Personally, I had many injuries that I rehabilitated back to good health by making good use of the gym and by practicing proper health and fitness routines. It changed my life and saved my athletic career. When I was in college at the age of 21, I was diagnosed with insulin dependent type 1 diabetes. This was also a learning curve for a young collegiate athlete. I had no option but to learn how to manage my diabetes by applying exercise and proper nutrition to my everyday routine. The gym is a tool for us to use and build ourselves better than we were when we walked in. A healthier lifestyle is contagious to positive results, more energy, and a better overall feeling. I am a credentialed CSCS strength coach with a passion to help you become the best version of yourself.
After college I pursued a career as an EMT. I worked in Northern Idaho and Washington as an EMT for three years. I have always had a passion for healthcare. Health and wellness are an everyday task that I also learned from my years as an EMT. Healthier routines and lifestyle changes may lower your number of healthcare visits and can significantly reduce the risk of emergency situations. With a daily routine of health and wellness, you can improve how you feel overall – mentally, emotionally, and physically. It is a goal of mine to help others help themselves through Peak Fitness. Improving your overall health can be a challenging journey at times but it can also be a fun experience as well. At Peak Fitness, we are dedicated to making the gym experience one that is suitable for all ages and experience levels – 24/7! I am here to help educate, answer any questions, and assist with fitness planning/exercise routines. As the gym manager, I will do my best to always be available and willing to lend my knowledge and expertise. I am excited to share my experience and passion for health and wellness with the Emmett community.
